This Saturday, 2 June, a very special concert will be performed at the Lee Hall as part of the Lunchtime Concert series. Wolfson Visiting Fellow Matthew Woolhouse will be performing a selection of his own compositions, including one inspired by the College entitled Ring True.

This promises to be a very lively day at College, with several of our Fellows and Senior Members participating in a discussion about what it means to be a Digital Person in 2018. Hosted in association with the Hub of all Things (HAT), the symposium will address cutting-edge financial, legal and ethical implications of the rich mine of personal data now stored on the internet.

Huge congratulations are in order for our football team, who were unbeaten this year! Last Sunday they beat the team from Cambridge University Press 6-0 to win the MCR League Cuppers. Goals were scored by Michael Elliot, David Gunn, Angus Buttar and Stefan Wolf, whose hat trick earned him man of the match.

Mary Hesse, one of our first Fellows back in 1965, generously remembered Wolfson in her Will by leaving a significant legacy to the College. It was recently decided that this generous gift will support Arts and Humanities PhD students in perpetuity from next academic year onwards.

The President of Wolfson College, Jane Clarke, is delighted to announce that Dr Susan Larsen has been appointed to the position of Senior Tutor at Wolfson College from September 2018. Susan is an Affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Slavonic Studies in Cambridge and, currently, Acting Senior Tutor at Fitzwilliam College.

Boat Club Captain Sonny Smart is heading to China with a crew from Wolfson Very exciting travels are coming up for the Wolfson College Boat Club (WCBC) - a team is headed to China today! Wolfson alumni Tong Wu (matriculated in 2014) invited the crew on behalf of Fenghe Sports, a Chinese rowing club.

The winning images from Wolfson's 2017 Photo Competition will be exhibited in the Gallery starting next week. ‘Wolfson Places 2017’, an exhibition of a selection of the photographs submitted by College members to the competition of this name run in the Michaelmas term of this year. It includes the winner, runners-up, highly commendeds and a selection of other images taken around the College.

This is a good weekend to cheer for Wolfson athletes, both on the water and on the ice. Be sure to cheer them on from afar and online too. The Boat Races take place in London on Saturday, and Wolfson is represented by Larkin Sayre (shown below doffing her Hunter wellies with panache) racing in the Blondie crew. You can follow those results on The Boat Race website and social media channels. Larkin, who is American, is doing an MPhil in Energy Technologies.
