Dr Jennings was a University Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine. His term as Senior Tutor (1974-1980) coincided with a significant growth in the College’s full-time students (to 200!), following the decision to admit mature undergraduates and the development by the University of the one year degree of Master of Philosophy (MPhil).
Dr Jennings and his wife Isobel are remembered for making a special effort to foster a sense of community in the College, then only in its second decade. They traditionally hosted a Boxing Day party at their home for students who remained in College over the festive period. The Jennings Prizes, awarded each year to students who achieve a First class degree in the Tripos commemorate Dr Jennings’ many contributions to the College.
Many happy returns to Dr Jennings.
