Our normally lush green lawns are currently the colour of lightly toasted bread thanks to the drought that has been ongoing since May, but there are still some bright spots in the gardens at Wolfson. In Lee Court, for instance, a beautiful and unusual tree native to southern Asia is in full bloom.

Wolfson Fellow and Director of Music, Lyn Alcántara is thrilled to be celebrating ten years of music-making with her children’s music charity, King’s Junior Voices. The choir will be celebrating its tenth birthday this coming Monday with a concert of works written especially for the choir, in King’s College Chapel at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 or £5 for children and are available from The Shop at King’s. We’d love to see some Wolfson friends in the audience.

Professor Jane Clarke and the Governing Body were delighted to welcome Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz to Wolfson to celebrate the awarding of his honorary degree from Cambridge University. The degree was awarded at a congregation at the Senate House which was presided over by the University Chancellor, Lord Sainsbury of Turville.

Congratulations to the Wolfson Green Impact team for their work to reduce environmental impacts at the College. Their efforts were rewarded with a Green Impact Gold award for the second year. The award was presented by Vice-Chancellor Stephen Toope to the College's Domestic Bursar, Alan Fuller, at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.
