About the Event
The world is now a global stage where collaborations and synergistic partnerships have seen multinational companies make tremendous progress in building global firms with global reach. On the Tech side, Facebook, Google, Amazon are typical definitions of firms with global reach. Pharmaceuticals like Pfizer, GSK in addition to consulting firms like McKinsey, BCG, Bain and Company, the big fours among other corporations are part of the networks of firms with global reach. Their services cut across countries and continents and their impact of higher magnitude.
The question in the mind of entrepreneurs and founder today is - “How do we go global with this nascent idea from our local geography?” “How do we build the right team for global competitiveness?”
In this series of WES panel, we are inviting experts in intellectual property right, developmental science, communication and team-building specialists to help us dissect the power of team building, the legal (intellectual property) angle for global businesses, developing your idea for global competitiveness, how to prepare your idea for the global stage and tell the most exciting story with impact. We hope to x-ray how you can build those unicorns from your local idea. Please join us again in this interesting conversation.
The panel will be moderated by David Izuogu, the Wolfson Entrepreneurs Society President.
About the Panellists
Joe started his career at the London office of J A Kemp before joining our Cambridge based team in 2018 to help grow our local client base in the area.
Joe advises on matters from general protection strategy, to freedom-to-operate, to infringement of rights. He particularly enjoys working with young and growing companies to develop their patent portfolios and relishes working closely with inventors to draft new patent applications. Joe’s clients include individual inventors, university spin-outs, and technology transfer organisations, as well as large multi-nationals, and he understands how to cater for the specific needs of each. He has particular experience advising clients for whom out-licencing of intellectual property rights is paramount to their business model, and who require a robust approach to enforcing those rights against third parties, when encroached.
Joe is recognised for his ability to quickly grasp new concepts, identify potential inventions and translate those clearly into registered intellectual property rights. With a technical background in physics, he is able to cover a wide range of technical areas including software, image processing, electronics, optics, semiconductors, mechanical devices, sports apparel, medical devices, engineering and aerospace. Joe also frequently works on cases with an element of cross-over with the life sciences.
Joe joined J A Kemp in 2011 and became an associate in 2016.
