Wolfson members speaking at the Mansion House event

Senior Members

Our Senior Members represent a valuable network of experienced and accomplished individuals who enrich the intellectual and social environment at Wolfson.

People conversing at the Mansion House event in 2025

The College is proud to count over 200 Senior Members among its community. Our Senior Members come from a wide range of backgrounds, including holders of senior University positions and notable figures in business, industry, and professions. Senior Members are encouraged to engage with the College's community and get involved with its activities and development. This can include mentoring, academic support, and contributing their expertise.

"A glance back at my diary shows that most years I enjoy attending Wolfson’s Entrepreneurship events, the Lee Lecture, and Law Society events such as the David Williams Annual Lecture. I come along to our monthly Senior Members' lunches and termly talks and enjoy our excellent library and gardens too. Being an active Senior Member at Wolfson has helped maintain my sense of belonging to our wonderful University."

Finola O'Sullivan, Senior Member from 2016

"Universities today need a wide variety of expertise and experience to succeed, not just the research of the Fellows. This is where the Senior Membership of Wolfson can be so valuable to the College and its members. I think it's very useful that those working in the wider university have a college connection, as the colleges are the hearts and minds of the organisation."

Jocelyn Probert
Jocelyn Probert in the gardens at Wolfson

After a decade in the finance industry in London and Tokyo, followed by ten years as a researcher at INSEAD's Euro-Asia Centre in France, Jocelyn began a PhD at Cambridge's Judge Business School in 1998, joining Wolfson College as a mature student. Her research focused on Japanese business practices, particularly inertia and change in under-studied industries during the 1990s, and later on global value chains across several countries. She has lived in Cambridge ever since, with brief periods elsewhere as a lecturer, and remained actively involved with Wolfson College as a Senior Member and former College Research Associate, continuing her contributions into retirement.

Originally from Nigeria, he was inspired by his mother, a psychiatric nurse, to pursue medicine and specialise in psychiatry. He is passionate about patient recovery, medical education, and representation, having found meaning in connecting with students through both academic and cultural references. He also conducted research on OCD at Cambridge and was drawn to Wolfson for its diversity and mature student community.
