The first collection of poems and artwork by the Wolfson community

Were you inspired by poetry week? Have you written some lines this year that you’d be willing to share?

Whether you are a member of Wolfson staff, a student, or a Fellow, we invite you to submit an original poem or piece of original artwork/photograph to be considered for inclusion in a Wolfson anthology, to be published at the end of Easter term.

Poems can be on any theme, but we especially welcome work on this year’s Wolfson theme: Growth.

How to submit

Submissions are now open, and will close on the extended deadline of Monday 29th May.

If you are interested in taking part, please fill in this Microsoft form with your poem, or with your intention to submit a photograph or picture of original artwork. We will be sharing some writing prompts over the coming weeks!

Email any questions to our student recruitment officer, Caroline Banerjee, on sro@wolfson.cam.ac.uk.

Guidelines

  • The submission must be your own work and should be previously unpublished. It can be short or long, but should not exceed 30 lines. If you are struggling to choose one poem, you can send up to three poems and we can choose for you! Alternatively, you could send a number of shorter poems that amount to no more than 30 lines.
  • The poem should ideally be in English, but if it’s in another language, we ask that you supply a translation.
  • Artwork or photographs to accompany poems, or as standalone pieces, are welcome (max three pieces per person). Again, this should be your own work. Please send artwork or photography to sro@wolfson.cam.ac.uk with the subject, ‘Growth Artwork Submission’. Please ensure any artwork can be captured in a photograph of suitable resolution for printing, and include the title of your piece (if it has one) in the body of your email.

We will be in touch with further instructions by the end of May if we would like to include your work in the publication; we may suggest some minor editorial alterations.
