Overview
The Mary Bevan Recital began in 2011 when former Honorary Fellow, the late Professor Hugh Bevan, funded an annual concert in memory of his late wife, Mary Bevan. Mary was a great music lover, and also a Senior Member at Wolfson. Every year, winners of the prestigious Cambridge University Concerto Competition perform at the concert, one of the biggest musical events in the College calendar.
This year's performers will be pianists Aidan Módica and Zosia Dzimitrowicz and trumpeter Alex Winnifrith.

- Aidan Módica
Aidan Módica was born in Dartford, Kent, in 2005. Three years after starting piano lessons at the age of thirteen, he was awarded a scholarship to study both piano and composition at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Here, he composed for new music ensembles such as the London Sinfonietta and the New London Chamber Ensemble, and was also awarded the Spencer Boney Memorial Prize for a pianist.
In the Summer of 2023, he performed with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra on their UK tour, as well as giving a series of solo recitals. He is currently an undergraduate student reading Music at Christ’s College, University of Cambridge, where he sings in the Chapel Choir. After performing Ravel's Concerto for the Left Hand with the King's College Music Society Orchestra, he went on to win the 2026 Cambridge University Concerto Competition. His present piano studies are taken at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of William Fong; he has previously been taught by many eminent musicians including Riyad Nicolas, Matthew Schellhorn and Leslie Howard. An ardent musicologist, he has published the first volume of a new thematic catalogue of Liszt's music with Leslie Howard and Minkyu Kim, and, since 2021, has served as one of the editors of The Liszt Society Journal.

- Zosia Dzimitrowicz
Zosia Dzimitrowicz is a pianist from South Wales. She is currently in her second year reading Music at Trinity College, Cambridge, while continuing her piano studies with Norma Fisher and Leon McCawley. Alongside her solo work, Zosia is an active chamber musician and accompanist, and a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals’ Youth Board.
Zosia previously attended Chetham’s School of Music, where she studied piano with Lulu Yang and accompaniment with Elena Nalimova. She is a participant in the Cambridge University Lieder Scheme, receiving specialist coaching from Joseph Middleton. Her musical development has further benefited from masterclasses with distinguished pianists including Peter Donohoe, Julian Jacobson, Steven Osborne, Isata Kanneh-Mason, Aisa Ijiri, and Peter Hill.
She holds the Fellowship (FTCL) performance diploma and the Licentiate (LMusTCL) academic diploma from Trinity College London. Zosia has received awards at both national and international levels, with recent accolades including prizes at the Montecatini International Piano Competition and being named National Winner of the EPTA UK Piano Competition.
In 2023, she was selected as the Clifton International Festival of Music’s Young Artist and featured in an interview on BBC Radio Bristol. Zosia performs regularly in a wide range of venues across the UK and Europe, with recent appearances in Serbia and Romania. She has performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 with orchestras in Newport and Brecon, respectively.

- Alex Winnifrith
Alex Winnifrith is a first-year Classics student at King’s, where he sings in the choir. While his background in music was as a chorister - singing at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, from 2015 to 2025 - he has always been captivated by the trumpet’s song-like qualities. From 2020 to 2025, he learned with Julian Poore, during which time he won the Winchester College concerto competition, performed the Hummel trumpet concerto with Chamber Orchestra, and reached the semi-finals of the 2024 Gregynog Young Musician competition. He holds two ATCL diplomas, and hopes that music – be it with the trumpet, or as a singer – will take him beyond Cambridge. Most recently, he was one of the University Concerto Competition’s joint winners, giving him the opportunity to perform a concerto with CUSO next year.

Admission is free with a retiring collection.
