On Saturday 23 March 2024, 46 students walked to Senate House to graduate, with one student celebrating their degree conferred in absence during the pandemic. Those graduating included 27 former undergraduates who returned to take their MA - other degrees conferred at the ceremony included MPhil, MRes, MSt, and BAMENG. This was the second year in a row that Wolfson invited former undergraduates to return to take their MA degrees in person and, given the success of the past two dedicated MA graduations, the College will continue to invite students in March to celebrate their MA with their peers.

A further two students chose to graduate in absentia, receiving their degree certificate by post.

It was - in Wolfson style - an international gathering, with students representing countries from around the world, including Australia, Cyprus, Finland, Japan, Portugal, Singapore, the UAE, and the UK.

"Every graduation is a happy occasion, as we celebrate our students' accomplishments, but this one was particularly special, as the largest cohort returning to take the MA this year had finished their degrees during the pandemic and weren't able to celebrate fully with one another at the time." - Dr Susan Larsen, Senior Tutor

Congratulations wolves, we're all incredibly proud of you and wish you the best of luck for the future! Don't forget to check out your alumni benefits - you are a College member for life.

The Difficult Joy of Death Activism

How we can develop ‘death activism’ – a variety of tactics and posthuman practices which celebrate death, its inevitability, its forms, from the slow to times of crisis, and how can trauma and mourning emerge as their own forms of expression, or even activism?
