Tim Winter has been teaching Islamic Studies in Cambridge since 1997. His education was at Westminster School, Pembroke College, Cambridge, SOAS, and at several madrasa institutions in Egypt. His academic publications include many articles on Islamic theology and Muslim-Christian relations, and two books in Turkish on political theology. His book reviews sometimes appear in the Times Literary Supplement. He is also the editor of the Cambridge Companion to Classical Islamic Theology (2008), and is author of Bombing without Moonlight, which in 2007 was awarded the King Abdullah I Prize for Islamic Thought. He has worked in film-making, acting as Executive Producer of The Alchemist of Happiness (2006), which has won several prizes. Since 2008 he has served as Dean of the Cambridge Muslim College.
