Baby steps toward better probiotics with Bonface Gichuki
The Wolfson Research Event (WRE) is an annual interdisciplinary academic conference organised by our students to showcase the diversity of student-led research in College.
The fourteenth Wolfson Research Event took place on 2 & 3 May 2024 in the Chancellor's Centre.
There were over 30 presentations from Wolfson students across the two-day conference. Topics reflected the range of topics researched by Wolfson students, including necropolitics, treatement of type 2 diabetes, mapping dark matter, and mother-student identities. For the first time, we also included an alumni panel to close the conference. You can see the full range of talks and posters in the Conference Booklet.
Photographs of the event are available on the College Flickr.
The event was organised by a committee of 15 students, co-chaired by PhD students Emma Walsh and Angelika Kwiatowska, assisted by Fellow and Librarian, Laura Jeffrey.
“The event continues to be a unique platform for students to share their work across disciplines, and this year was no exception,” Angelika says. “One of the things that stood out to me most was the diversity of topics presented. It was an incredible reminder of the breadth and depth of research within our college."
