Paul also works as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the UK National Health Service and was previously Professor of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Imperial College London.
He trained as a doctor in Southampton and then in public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London and in child and adolescent mental health in Oxford.
Paul's research has focussed on mental health and he has a particular interest in the development of play and the prevention of emotional and behavioural problems in the early years of life.
