Karen Pearce is Assistant Director of Physical Education at the University of Cambridge. She is responsible for managing University sports facilities, human resources, the Sports website, community outreach programs and child protection. She also supports the Director in the development and marketing of new sports facilities and initiatives.
Educated at the British School of Paris, Karen went on to achieve a BSc and MSc in Sports Science from Loughborough University before training as a CYQ Advanced Gym Instructor. She lectured in Sports Science at University College Worcester for two years before moving to Cambridge. She is currently undertaking research into the social history of women’s sport at Cambridge University.
Karen has been a Fellow of Wolfson College since 2000. She is a member of the Friends of Wolfson Boat Club Committee, the University Committee on Community Activities and the Ospreys Senior Committee. From 2006-2008 Karen served on the East Regional Sports Board charged with implementing the Government's participation strategy and allocating funds within the region.
Karen has played hockey at National League Level and is a qualified and experienced hockey coach. She has played cricket at National League, County and English Universities levels and rowed for Wolfson College 1st boat.
