Zhenghan works at the interface of flexible electronics, wearable biosensors, and sustainable energy technologies. His current research focuses on developing high-performance polymer thermoelectric devices and exploring their applications in flexible energy harvesting.
Zhenghan received his bachelor's and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Zhejiang University, where he worked on the development of wireless and battery-free bioelectronic systems for real-time health monitoring. His research integrates flexible electronics, functional materials, and sustainable energy systems to realise efficient energy harvesting and low-power sensing. He is now a postdoctoral researcher in the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge and a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College.
Zhenghan's research focuses on wireless, battery-free, and sustainable bioelectronic systems for health monitoring. His previous work established portable and wearable biosensing platforms that integrate electrochemical biosensors with near-field communication. These systems enable point-of-care analysis of easily accessible biofluids such as sweat, saliva, and wound exudates, supporting non-invasive and personalised healthcare.
At Cambridge, he works on polymer thermoelectrics as a strategy for flexible energy harvesting. He is particularly interested in understanding how molecular structure, doping, and processing govern charge and heat transport in organic semiconductors, and how these properties can be engineered to enhance thermoelectric performance. His research brings together bioelectronics, materials science and device physics, with the broader goal of enabling low-carbon electronic systems for next-generation wearable and healthcare technologies.
