Stephen is a chartered physicist, engineer and scientist with extensive experience in a range of roles including industrial R&D, international technical product support, customer and sales training, project management and client marketing world-wide. His doctorate work was at AERE Harwell and University of Oxford Department of Nuclear Physics, after a first degree at Lincoln College, Oxford, and was followed by RA positions at the Rutherford Laboratory within the High Energy Physics Division and a Lectureship in Physics at the University of Birmingham (held 1979-1986). He joined Edwards High Vacuum International (part of BOC) in 1986, moving to local SMEs Ion Science Ltd in 1997 and Cathodeon Ltd in 2001. In 2005 he joined the new Inkjet Research Centre at the University of Cambridge, Department of Engineering, Institute for Manufacturing, working on the flagship projects. In 2006 he won the Engineering Department Photography Competition. He was a Teaching Associate in Electrical Engineering at Gonville & Caius College in 2009 and became the internal Director of Studies for Engineering at Wolfson in 2011. He supports the Wolfson Science Society and the Wolfson Research Event 2013 and also answers to the name Steve.
