Dr Meiser-Stedman is a clinical psychologist and currently holds a Readership at UEA. He is also a Visiting Scientist at the MRC Cognition & Brain Sciences Unit. His main research interests are post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in children and adolescents. In particular, he studies the course and phenomenology of post-traumatic stress in youth, and the cognitive and biological mechanisms that underpin chronic PTSD. He is currently running the ASPECTS (Acute Stress Programme for Children and Teenagers) trial. This trial is examining the efficacy of cognitive behavioural therapy as an early intervention for PTSD in young people. The website for this study can be found here: www.aspects-study.org
