Dr Rasha Rezk BSc MPhil PhD

Rasha Rezk is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Materials Engineering and Material Tissue Interaction (MEMTI) group, Engineering Department, Cambridge. Her research interests lie in cell mechanics with a particular focus on the relationship between glioblastoma adhesion strength and metastatic capacity. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form of brain cancer. Although brain cancer is less common than other types of cancer, to date, glioblastoma remains incurable. Elucidating the relationship between the adhesion strength of these cells and metastatic capacity could potentially serve as a prognostic tool for initial screening of drug efficacy. Rasha  received her Master and PhD Degrees in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Rasha is an Associate Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She currently supervises first year undergraduate engineers on Materials (Part IA)  for four Cambridge Colleges; Caius (2014-), King’s (2014-), Robinson (2014-) and Wolfson College (2012-). In 2015, she became a Junior Research Fellow and a Director of Studies for Part I Engineering at Wolfson.
