Markus Kuhn is Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory. His research interests focus on computer security and distributed systems. His speciality are hardware and signal-processing aspects of computer security, in particular compromising emanations, side-channel attacks, distance-bounding protocols, and the security of RFID and navigation systems.

Before joining Wolfson College as a research student in 1997 he earned degrees from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) and Purdue University (Indiana).
