Louis is a College Research Associate interested in the use of digital technology for educational purposes. His research investigates how knowledge is developed by learners who use digital technologies, and factors that afford and constrain the effectiveness of digital tools educationally. Louis has a particular interest in the role of technology for supporting dialogue in the classroom. In addition, Louis is interested in methods for research synthesis and the application of empirical research methods in educational settings. 

Louis is happy to mentor or advise students on different aspects of education and learning technology, including in particular the role of digital technology in supporting the development of dialogic classroom pedagogy; the use of digital tools to aid teacher professional development; using mobile devices to improve educational outcomes in low-resource contexts; computer science education.
