Adrian studied Applied Biology in London and completed an MPhil and a PhD whilst working at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. He moved to a Senior Lectureship in Transplantation Biology at Guy’s Hospital and from there to the Pathology Department at Cambridge University. Adrian’s MPhil and subsequent PhD investigated the molecules involved in the MHC antigen processing and presentation pathways and his research has remained focused on understanding these pathways and their interactions with pathogens. He has an interest in teaching, holds qualified teacher status and has been heavily involved in teaching within the University. In recognition of this in 2015 he was awarded the Pilkington Prize for Teaching.
