Caitlin's research investigates the cognitive processes that contribute to the development and maintenance of emotional disorders. She aims to advance understanding of the cognitive mechanisms that drive emotional disturbance, and to translate experimental cognitive science into novel therapeutic interventions.

With funding support from the British Academy and ESRC, her current projects are exploring the role of autobiographical memory as a transdiagnostic maintenance factor for psychological disturbance, and using these insights to develop and evaluate innovative clinical interventions which aim to enhance current gold-standard treatments.
