Wolfson President to visit San Francisco

Wolfson President, Jane Clarke, will soon be heading west — to San Francisco, where she'll be attending a scientific conference as well as meeting up with Wolfson members and friends.

Combining her work as a scientist with her role at Wolfson means that Jane has a packed schedule when she travels, but she enjoys it all. In December, she attended a conference on Molecular Perspectives on Protein-Protein Interactions in Eilat. Whilst there, she was pleased to meet up with Israeli members at the Carlton Tel Aviv Hotel on 7 December.

Gideon Fisher (1991), President of the Cambridge Club of Israel said, "I had the pleasure of having a fascinating conversation with Professor Jane Clarke, a world-renowned scientist in the field of Chemistry and President of Wolfson College; she's an impressive woman and scientist."

Says Jane, "I always enjoy my trips to Israel, where I have many scientific colleagues. It was a real pleasure to meet with other members of the Wolfson Israeli community."

In San Francisco, Jane will be at the Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society, which takes place from 17-21 February. Jane is a Fellow of the Society and a member of the Executive Committee. On the evening of Tuesday, 20 Feb she will be meeting Wolfson members and their guests at the Marriott Marquis on Mission Street.

"I'm looking forward to meeting up with some of our American alumni, as well as other members who live in this vibrant part of the world," says Jane. "One thing I have found in the last few months is that to be a member of Wolfson is to be a member of a worldwide network of interesting and influential people."

If you would like to attend the event in San Francisco, you can register online.
