Graham Allen was Academic Secretary of the University of Cambridge from 2002 to 2015, having joined the University’s central administration in 1983. Graham graduated in Chemistry from the University of Oxford (1980), and worked in the Physics Department of the Open University before moving to Cambridge.
As Academic Secretary he was Secretary of the General Board, Cambridge University’s principal academic body; responsible for Professorial recruitment; and was Head of the Academic Division of the University Offices responsible administration of teaching and research across the University. He was also a Governor of Bromsgrove School and the Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
