Celebrations at May Graduation
Thanks to our global community of alumni, students, staff, Fellows, and friends, Wolfson’s inaugural Giving Day raised over £125,000 from a staggering 471 donors.
“A huge number of people stepped up to support the College, and we were delighted by the many supportive comments we received from alumni and friends from across the globe. This was a tremendous demonstration of the strength of the Wolfson community, and we are grateful to everyone who participated.”
Over the course of 36 hours, donations poured in from all over the world – a remarkable display of generosity and Wolfson pride, with every donation a testament to the strength and reach of our incredible College family.
As the names and donations stacked up on the donor wall, so did the heartfelt messages of how Wolfson has made a difference in the lives of so many of its members:
“In appreciation for the extraordinary support Wolfson offers to mature students. The belief in our potential, the encouragement, and the space you provide for us to thrive don’t go unnoticed. Thank you for making us feel seen, capable, and inspired—especially when the journey feels uphill." - Olivia Rizzo (2020)
“Grateful for the vibrant, truly cosmopolitan community at Wolfson College, and for a transformative experience that profoundly shaped my intellectual journey. Proud to support its future!” - Mohamed Nanabhay (2009)
“Thanks, Wolfson College, for creating such a welcoming and supportive place to study. From the porters to the librarians, academic fellows to the gardeners, the team has shaped a special culture and environment I hope future students enjoy as much as I did." - Elizabeth Reynolds (2021)
Funds raised will support everything from student wellbeing and academic research to future-proofing the College site, ensuring that Wolfson remains a thriving and welcoming home for scholars and members of all backgrounds.
Summing up this year’s Giving Day, Wolfson President, Professor Dame Ijeoma Uchegbu, said: “All that remains is for us to say a heartfelt thank you – your support during this day has helped to transform lives.”
