This follows another record-breaking year for fundraising, with donations from alumni and friends of the College leading to the creation of a further range of new postgraduate scholarships. These funding opportunities cover a wide range of subjects for students at all stages of their academic career and include fully-funded studentships and partial awards. The College also offers match-funded studentships, delivered by Wolfson in partnership with other University institutions and departments.

Some of the new scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year include:

FEIBI Scholarship Fund

Funded by a generous gift to Wolfson College by Ms Wei Wang, of Hong Kong, the FEIBI Scholarship Fund will provide a full studentship for one woman pursuing a PhD in a Sciences, Technology, Engineering or Medicine (STEM) subject. The scholarship will be open to UK Home students at Wolfson College pursuing doctoral studies in the Sciences.

Richard Chancellor’s Journey PhD Studentship in Slavonic Studies

This scholarship will offer at least £10,000 per year towards the cost of PhD fees and maintenance for a home-fee rated student pursuing doctoral studies in any area of Slavonic studies. The scholarship was established by a Wolfson College alumnus in honour of explorer and expert navigator Richard Chancellor (1521-1556), who in 1553 became the first Westerner to discover the entrance to the White Sea and the first English person to visit Moscow, where he met Ivan the Terrible and established trading relations between the Tsardom of Muscovy and England.

Professor Jane Clarke PhD Scholarship for Women in STEM

Created and funded in honour of Wolfson’s former President, Professor Jane Clarke, the studentship will provide up to £10,000 per year for three years for one woman pursuing a PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field in which women are underrepresented.
