The Wolfcast

Tips and tools from Wolfson's librarians in easily digestable chunks

wolfcast logo

Welcome to the Wolfcast! A podcast created by the library team focusing on the important academic skills you need to know, broken down into bitesize, 20 minute episodes.

Each episode focuses on a different subject, and usually features a guest with first hand experience of the topic to make sure the advice is not only 'best practice' but also realistic and, we hope, genuinely useful. Our esteemed interviewees will share their experiences, relate how they solved problems, and give top tips on how to hit the ground running in academia.

Join Connor and Laura for a quick and fun way to learn tips and tools for working more effectively and efficiently during your time here at Wolfson – on the bus, walking to your department, when and wherever you stream podcasts!

Michaelmas Term:

Lent Term:

  • using feedback (2 February)
  • getting started on your dissertation (16 February)
  • research data management (2 March)
  • exams & revision (16 March)

The first four episodes launched weekly in November 2025 to coincide with academic writing month; subsequent episodes will come out fortnightly.

We know that everyone works differently, so don't forget that you can also find recordings of 90-minute workshops on YouTube, or step-by step guides on the Wolfson College LibGuide.

Happy listening!
