The LibrarySearch catalogue is currently unavailable. Please use the Newton Catalogue to search for books you want to find in the Lee Library. Choose “Newton” from the quick links on the Lee Library homepage, then select the Colleges P-W catalogue.

All new students are invited to attend a brief tour of the College Library (the Lee Library) to find out how to make the most of the facilities and resources available. The schedule of tours is included in your induction programme (in your welcome pack), and on posters in the Porters' Lodge and Library lobby. There's no need to book a place. Simply meet in the Library lobby at the appropriate time. We look forward to meeting you!

All books borrowed for the long vacation are due back by midnight on Monday 1 October. Please renew or return your loans without delay! You can renew online up to 3 times (via your library account, accessible from LibrarySearch or Newton), by email to library @ wolfson.cam.ac.uk, or in person by asking the Librarian or Library Assistant. All new loans and renewals will now be issued for the standard loan period (4 weeks; 1 week for economics books).

Don't forget that all books on loan from the Lee Library are due for return before midnight on Wednesday 13th June. Please bring your books back without delay! Don't forget that you can view, save and print exam papers from the last four years (2008-2011) on the Cambridge University Library Exam Question Website. Use your Raven user-id and password to log in to the site.

Last year we launched a website project with two major aims: to re-design the website and to introduce a user-friendly Content Management System (CMS). Since the website is so crucial to attracting new students and visiting academics, we wanted to give it a new more contemporary appearance – a process we will probably need to repeat every few years to ensure it stays fresh. We also wanted to spread the load when it comes to updating information, and make it a quicker and easier process with a more intuitive CMS.

The College Library remains open 24/7 throughout the Easter vacation, including over the Easter bank holiday weekend. However, there will be some changes to the usual staffing pattern, as follows: 19-23 March – staffed part-time only (contact Laurence on library@wolfson for further details); 26-30 March – no staff. From 2 April the new Librarian, Jenny Sargent, will be in post, and the Library will be staffed full-time as normal (Monday-Friday).

Our new Book of the Month for March is a witty and critical examination of censorship in what we’re commonly told is an age of unprecendented freedom. Nick Cohen’s You Can’t Read This Book: Censorship in an age of freedom [Lee Library 302.2(14)] is on display on the shelf outside the Librarian’s office, and is available to borrow in the usual way. This week’s Thesis Writing Group offers the last in a 3-part series by Richard Berengarten, and will look at ‘Study planning: prioritisation, multi-tasking and time management’. The session will take the form of a practical workshop; no preparation is necessary, but please bring along a pen and paper, and be ready to try out some new ideas and techniques.
