The American pianist Kristin Loretta Barone-Samadi (b.1984), a native of New York, a graduate of Queens College CUNY, and former faculty member of Adelphi University will perform a collection of works by the American composer Edward J Hines (b. 1951), called “Aksak”, that refers to and is influenced by the dance movements of Turkish folkloric music from which the metric patterns of the pieces were derived. Kristin has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. At this concert, she will celebrate the release of her first album.
