The spectacular landscape at Grime’s Graves reflects the ancient mining industries which were practised here as long as 5,000 years ago. A small introductory exhibition in the visitor centre includes information about Neolithic mining, a virtual tour of the mines and landscape, and touchable reproduction Neolithic tools.

A guided tour of 1h – 1h 20 m includes admission to the public pit at Grime’s Graves, via a nine-metre (30ft) ladder. Visitors are advised to wear ‘sensible’ shoes as the tour covers some areas of rough ground.

Entry £11.00 (group rate), free for NT members

One of the most elegant country houses in East Anglia, the Hall is a mixture of opulence and homeliness where each room has something to feed the imagination. A decorative and productive walled garden is a gardener's delight and inspiration, providing beautiful flowers for the hall, with the allotments in the walled garden providing fruit and vegetables for the Squire's Pantry. The rolling landscape park with a lake, 211 hectares (520 acres) of woods and waymarked trails is a great place to explore nature and wildlife on this estate.
