Our History
Wolfson's first crew graced the river Cam in 1968, making history as the first "combined" crew to compete in the May bumps with both male and female rowers. The Club rows in blue and yellow, the national colours of Ukranian student Maria Lukianowicz, who was also the first female cox on the Cam.

This past year was a truly exciting and eventful one for Wolfson College Boat Club. The success and fun of novice term (Michaelmas) resulted in the Club growing in size compared to past years, with the addition of the first women's third (W3) racing crew in the history of the Club (as far as we know). In preparation for the many races WCBC competed in on the Cam, including the popular Lent and May Bumps, we went on two training camps to Portugal and Earith. WCBC also competed in races outside of Cambridge, such as the Head of the River Race in London and Head of the Nene in Peterborough.
Additionally, many WCBC members became international athletes, as we were able to send a men's boat to compete in the Longzi Lake University Rowing Regatta in China (for the second time), and two women's boats to compete in the De Vinci Race on the Seine in Paris. Finally, both our men's and women's first crews competed in the qualifying races for Henley Royal Regatta, one of the best-known regattas in the world. We can't wait for another exciting year of rowing and encourage anyone who wants to join to contact a committee member!
Social Rowing
For those who wish to learn or practice with a variable time commitment, the Wolfson College Social Rowing Team offers the opportunity to row on a more casual basis.
