Brian Moore Accompanist Scholarship
Subject to vacancies, Wolfson College offers an Accompanist Scholarship of £600 each year, with additional 'perks' worth a further £600, including a keyboard in your College room, free meals on days of service, free choir trips, purchase of music, and piano/organ/singing lessons as agreed with the Head of Music.
The current Accompanist Scholar will continue to hold the scholarship until the end of the 2026/27 academic year.
Choral Scholarships
Wolfson also offers a number of choral scholarships each year, including the Lynette Alcántara Choral Scholarship for the applicant with the best solo potential.
- Undergraduate Choral Scholars receive a stipend of £100 plus perks.
- Postgraduate Choral Scholars receive a stipend of £250 plus perks.
- The Lynette Alcántara Choral Scholarship offers additional voice lessons to the choral scholar with the most solo potential.
- All Choral Scholars receive additional 'perks' including a number of free Formal Halls, choir socials, heavily subsidised choir tours every few years, and singing lessons to the value of £350.
Auditions are usually held for new students during the first week of Michaelmas Term. More information and the application form can be found in the download section below. The application deadline is 4 October 2026, although early applications are always welcome.
Ian Cross Graduate Instrumental Scholarship
Outstanding Instrumentalists are invited to apply for this scholarship of £500 (2026/27) plus solo opportunities. Auditions are held during the first week of Michaelmas Term. More information and the application form can be found in the download section below. The application deadline is 4 October 2026, although early applications are welcome.
University Awards Scheme
Wolfson also participates in the University's Instrumental Awards Scheme for Chamber Music. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are able to apply.
