Wolfson Research Event 2023: "advancements that will shape our future"

Free and open to all, this year’s WRE takes place on Thursday 4 May and Friday 5 May, and features a breathtaking diversity of research subjects from across the similarly diverse and deeply international Wolfson student body.

Did the pandemic enable people to explore religious belief? What’s the story about women wrestlers in the Indian state of Haranya? What was the Norse-Inuit contact in Medieval Greenland? WRE brings new research on fascinating subjects to the public consciousness.

There are unique approaches and perspectives to illness and disease, including pancreatic cancer, chronic lymphonic leukemia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and chronic wound repair. And there are eye-opening insights on topics and issues from across the world, including environmental protest in Africa, healthcare for migrants and refugees in the Netherlands, and methods of verifying Islamic history using new techniques and discoveries.
