Recognition for Wolfson's green efforts

Thanks to a dedicated Green Society, Wolfson was awarded a Gold Green Impact Award, and PhD student Charlie Barty-King was singled out for his efforts.

The Environment and Energy Section celebrates those Colleges, Labs and Departments of the University for their efforts to promote sustainability and improve their environmental performance. They also recognise individual initiatives with their Green Impact Special awards. These awards aim to "highlight projects and individuals which have gone the extra mile as part of, and alongside Green Impact. The projects and initiatives were nominated by Green Impact participants as having made a difference above and beyond the requirements of the Green Impact workbook." This year they awarded a Student Leadership Award to our own indefatigable Charlie Barty-King (PhD 2017, Engineering).

Green Impact

"Over at Wolfson College, Charlie Barty-King has been similarly busy alongside his studies. He has been an irreplaceable member of the Wolfson Green Impact team, spearheading their submission this year. He has also founded the Green Society of Wolfson College with membership from right across the College, set up a ‘Green Talk’s lecture series and supported other students in establishing their own sustainability initiatives. Charlie’s energy knows no bounds and ... his commitment to collaborating with staff and students epitomises the leadership quality that this award recognises."
