Many subjects present you with an overwhelming list of readings. Even when you have tracked them all down it can be tough deciding which are most relevant; you simply haven't got time to read them all. This session will cover interpreting reading lists, searching for books and articles online, and critically evaluating them to help you decide what is going to be most useful for your work.
We'll then spend time experimenting with a variety of note making techniques for use when reading or listening to lectures. You'll have the opportunity to try them out and decide which one best suits your practices.
Sessions will be interactive to enable you to get the most from them, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions to your College Librarians, Laura and Alberto.
