Kate Cheka is an artist, stand-up comedian and writer who has performed in over ten countries across four continents. The 2023 Funny Women Award winner her debut sold out Edinburgh show received critical acclaim and went on to a Soho Theatre run. She was also nominated for the 2025 DIVA Magazine Queer comedian of the year award and the Chortle 2024 Best Newcomer award. As heard on The Guilty Feminist podcast, and Radio 4’s The News Quiz and The Matt Forde Focus Group. Comedy with a unique blend of joy and disdain or as The Guardian said ‘political comedy may yet have found its new messiah.
Supported by: Maple Zuo, a Chinese–Mongolian stand-up comedian, featured on BBC Cultural Frontline. She has won both the Comedy Store’s King Gong and Up the Creek’s Blackout, establishing herself as a standout voice on the UK comedy circuit. Additionally, She was runner-up in the Funny Women Awards 2025 and LGBT New Comedian of the Year 2024, and a finalist in Leicester Square Theatre’s New Act of the Year 2023.

This event is open to all and is £5 on the door (free for Wolfson students with ID card).
Queue opens 19:30, doors open 20:00, laughter begins 20:30.
Seats go fast, so don't assume you'll get a seat if you don't queue!
Access
This event will take place in the Club Room on the ground floor of our main building which has step free access. There is an accessible toilet located on the first floor of the building which can be accessed by stairs or by lift.
