Overview

Organised by our Interdisciplinary Research Hub in Sustainability & Conservation (S&C Hub), this conference is an opportunity for us to reflect on how far Wolfson has come, think about where we are headed and engage with others in Cambridge on sustainability and conservation. As we enter this exciting next phase of sustainability development at Wolfson, we're delighted for you to join us at this day-long conference where you can expect to hear contributions from our researchers, alumni, Fellows, staff, students and wider network.

Conference Themes

This conference features four engaging sessions: Building a Resilient Community, Sustainability Research at Wolfson, Making an Impact, and Delivering Institutional Change from our recent past and into the future.

09.00 – Registration opens

09.15 – Welcome & Introduction

Wolfson President Professor Jane Clarke and Chair of the Wolfson Sustainability Committee Professor Steve Evans welcome attendees and introduce the day.

09.30 – Session 1: Building a Resilient Community

Chaired by Professor Steve Evans

Overview of how the S&C Hub was formed and how it has progressed over the last three years. The session will cover how we devised our Theory of Change, Wolfson Living Lab, Sustainability Thinking Space, Wolfson S&C Stories project, Sustainability Mentor Scheme and S&C Library Collection. Contributions from:

  • Dr Hannah Cubaynes (College Research Associate), British Antarctic Survey - Wildlife from Space Research Associate
  • Dr Linda Geaves (College Research Associate), Post-doctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Sustainable Development, Department of Engineering
  • Trish Muzenda (student), PhD focussed on integrating health considerations into green building practices in sub-Saharan African cities

Details

This is a hybrid event which is open to all and is free to attend.

Booking is required via eventbrite for both in-person and online attendees.

Refreshments will be available for those attending in-person, with a sandwich lunch provided.

Wolfson members wishing to join the S&C Hub 3rd Anniversary Dinner must book via the Wolfson Formal Hall booking system. There is no dress code for this dinner – come dressed to enjoy an evening of celebration!
