Can you explain your research to the real world in five minutes?

Do you know what your friend's student project is? Do you know what your colleague across the corridor is currently working on? Was it yeast cultures or quantum mechanics? If not, you should definitely come to the Wolfson College Science Slam!

The Science Slam is a science communication format where scientists explain their research projects in short 5-minute-talks that are easy to follow and afterwards the audience gets to vote in a friendly and fun competition. This means there will be prizes!

This event is designed to be friendly and entertaining. Therefore, you are welcome to present your work in non-conventional ways. Anything is possible, from the usual ppt-presentation to live experiments on stage, self-made costumes, songs or comedy, whatever comes to your mind. There is fame and glory to win! If you'd rather not be in the spotlight, feel free to just come and enjoy the show with a slice of pizza and glass of wine in hand.

We would like to emphasize that this is open to all levels, undergraduates, graduates, postdocs, Fellows etc.

If you are interested in presenting and/or attending, please fill out this form.

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, there will be pizza and drinks provided!

Those attending Formal Hall are welcome to join us, the presentations should be finished by 7pm.
