If you have not been part of Noodle Club before, come along and find out about us. We help people gain confidence in conversational English through discussion, untangling of language problems, readings, as much correction as you want (maybe none), a place to practice presentations, and lots of general chat.
We meet in Fuchs House music room from 13.00 to 15.00 on Fridays. College provides instant noodles, rice or soup, snacks, hot drinks and biscuits, or you can bring your own lunch. There is no need for a regular commitment, just turn up whenever you have the time.
As part of the theme Wolfson Explores Transformation, today we will discuss the greatest transformation of all — death. Specifially, euthanasia: when and where it is legal and whether we think it is ethical and in what circumstances. Here are some links:
The situation in the UK.
Assisted suicide in The Netherlands
Again from The Netherlands, is unbearable mental suffering a 'slippery slope' for assisted dying?
A study on Oregon's Death with Dignity Act.
Various religions' views of euthanasia.
