The New England Company is an English charity whose 'objects' for the Six Nations of the Grand River (Brantford) Ontario, 1836-1934 were removed in litigation (1919-34) by the Government of Canada's Department of Indian Affairs. This is a revealing chapter in the attempted nationalization of Indigenous identity in Canada.

This talk follows the national and international implications, 1919-34, mixing radical Indigenous politics, local elites and politicians on every level.

Refreshments from 17:45, talk from 18:00; all welcome.
