The sixteenth-century Spanish dialogue known as Viaje de Turquia offers a vision of Ottoman Constantinople frequently singled out by scholars for its favourable depictions of cultural and religious diversity. This presentation seeks not only to highlight the overlooked issue of anti-Semitism in Viaje but also to establish its centrality both to the plot and the worldview presented in the dialogue.

Refreshments from 17:45, talk from 18:00; all welcome.
