Alumni Celebration 2021 Saturday Event

Every September, Wolfson's Alumni Reunion is the highlight of our events calendar; we love nothing better than welcoming you back to College and seeing old friends catch up over our Reunion Dinner. This year's weekend reunion is scheduled for 18-19 September. 

This is the first in-person event that we will be hosting for our alumni in 2021, and it will be a superb opportunity to reconnect with your former classmates. This year we are warmly inviting our alumni whose matriculation years end in 0 and 5, as their alumni weekend was cancelled last year, to join our alumni whose matriculation years end in 1 and 6:  1965, 1966, 1970, 1971, 1975, 1976, 1980, 1981, 1985, 1986, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2005 2006, 2010, 2011, 2015, and 2016.

The programme for the day will be:

• 12:00 - 14:00 Welcome Brunch with Fellows
• 14:00 Tour of the Wolfson Gardens by Head Gardener, Oscar Holgate, as well as a Tour of the College by alumnus and former member of the Alumni team, Matthias Wong
• 15:00 - 16:00 Afternoon Tea
• 16:00 - 17:00 In Conversation... 'Change to Still Ring True': Past President, Gordon Johnson, and researchers from Wolfson's academic community debate and discuss the distinctive role Wolfson has played in the development of Cambridge as a major international university since the mid-20th century
• 19:00 Champagne Reception
• 19:30 Black-tie Dinner 
• 21:30 Post-dinner coffee and port

 

 

The Club Room, café, and bar, as well as the College grounds, will be available for catching up with old friends during free time. 

Guests and family will also be very welcome to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: The Black-tie Dinner, and In Conversation events have limited capacity. If you are unable to book onto them, but would still like to attend, please email Tiffany Charnley at alumni@wolfson.cam.ac.uk, and you will be added to our reserves list.

On Sunday 19 September 2pm - 4pm, there will be a College Garden Party, to which all Wolfson alumni and their guests are invited. There is no booking required to attend this event, so please do come and join us all if you are available. There will be refreshments, and entertainment from the band The Steel Invaders in the College grounds. In the event of bad weather, the party will be moved inside to escape the rain!

Please, be aware that College Covid guidelines will be followed and may change over time. You can keep track of the College guidelines here. At the moment, College is limiting numbers for indoor activities and therefore tickets for some events will be capped. If events do become fully booked, alumni can put their names onto a reserve list.
