Dinner at the Law Event

The Wolfson Sir David Williams Law Society cordially invites you to the third annual Wolfson Law Event on Saturday 18 February 2023.

Dinner at the Law Event

The day will consist of a variety of wonderful events, including panel discussions, where we will be joined by prestigious law professionals; an afternoon tea; and a formal Dinner to conclude the day.


The event is specifically for Wolfson Law and Criminology alumni, students, and those who now work in law. Our students are particularly keen to make connections with those working in the profession, so we greatly encourage alumni to attend.
 

The day will be in two parts, with the afternoon programme being 
free to attend. 
You are more than welcome to join us for just one or both parts of the day.

Tickets for the Formal Dinner will be £50 for Alumni and Guests and we have also introduced a Recent Alumni discount for Wolfson alumni who graduated in 2020 or later. For our more recent alumni, the dinner ticket price will be £25. Tickets will be £15 for students, with student ticket prices being subsidised by the alumni tickets.

We have a prestigious list of panellists, some of whom will be travelling internationally, to join us for discussions on Crime and the Constitution, and International Law.

The International Law panel will be chaired by Wolfson Fellow, Dr Jamie Trinidad KC, (m.2007) and our Crime and Constitution panel will be led by Professor Dame Sara Thornton DBE QPM, (m.2010). Our panels will also include Ioannis Alexopoulos (m.1985); Dr Markus Beham (m.2019); Emeritus Fellow, Dr Jennifer Davis; Fellow, Dr Arushi Garg; Dr Eva Nanopoulos (m.2006); and Professor Photini Pazartzis (m.1997).

 

The programme for the day is as follows:

  • 13:00 - (Optional) Alumni Welcome and College Tours 
  • 14:00 - Panel 1: Crime and the Constitution 
  • 15:15 - Afternoon Tea 
  • 15:45 - Panel 2: International Law 
  • 17:00 - Break
  • 18:30 - Drinks reception 
  • 19:00 - Formal Dinner (Carriages at 21:30)

The formal dinner will finish in time for those who live in London to catch a train home.

The cafeteria will open to purchase brunch from 10:30 - 14:00 for those that would like to arrive a little earlier.
