Wolfson Director of Music celebrates ten years of children's music-making

Wolfson Fellow and Director of Music, Lyn Alcántara is thrilled to be celebrating ten years of music-making with her children’s music charity, King’s Junior Voices. The choir will be celebrating its tenth birthday this coming Monday with a concert of works written especially for the choir, in King’s College Chapel at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 or £5 for children and are available from The Shop at King’s. We’d love to see some Wolfson friends in the audience.

Professor Jane Clarke and the Governing Body were delighted to welcome Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz to Wolfson to celebrate the awarding of his honorary degree from Cambridge University. The degree was awarded at a congregation at the Senate House which was presided over by the University Chancellor, Lord Sainsbury of Turville.

Wolfson Green goes for Gold

Congratulations to the Wolfson Green Impact team for their work to reduce environmental impacts at the College. Their efforts were rewarded with a Green Impact Gold award for the second year. The award was presented by Vice-Chancellor Stephen Toope to the College's Domestic Bursar, Alan Fuller, at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

Wolfson Choir to perform in Szeged, Hungary

The Wolfson College Choir, conducted by Lyn Alcántara, Director of Music, is travelling to Hungary next week to perform. They will appear at the Rector’s Faculty Hall, 13, Dugonics Tér, Szeged on Thursday 28 June at 6pm.

Wolfson Boat Club has best May Bumps ever

The Wolfson College Boat Club wrapped up a very successful year with a thrilling four days of May Bumps, with three out of four boats blading, and the Club winning the Pegasus Cup and the Michell Cup for the first time ever.

Visiting Fellow to perform Wolfson-inspired compositions

This Saturday, 2 June, a very special concert will be performed at the Lee Hall as part of the Lunchtime Concert series. Wolfson Visiting Fellow Matthew Woolhouse will be performing a selection of his own compositions, including one inspired by the College entitled Ring True.

Hosted in association with the Hub of all Things (HAT), the symposium will address cutting-edge financial, legal and ethical implications of the rich mine of personal data now stored on the internet.

Wolfson football team wins MCR Cuppers

Huge congratulations are in order for our football team, who were unbeaten this year! Last Sunday they beat the team from Cambridge University Press 6-0 to win the MCR League Cuppers. Goals were scored by Michael Elliot, David Gunn, Angus Buttar and Stefan Wolf, whose hat trick earned him man of the match.
