Cleaning
Bedders (Cambridge-speak for cleaners) work in every block each weekday morning. They clean kitchens, bathrooms and corridors, empty your bins every day, and will clean your room once a week. Please note this does not extend to making the bed (hence the sheer wilful pointlessness of the term 'bedder'; just be glad you are not in an older College with even more archaic terminology) or tidying the room. If for any reason you don't want to be disturbed on a particular day you should leave your bin outside your room.
The bedders are friendly and hard-working and do a great job; please show your appreciation of their efforts by not making an unnecessary mess in communal areas or letting your room turn into a rat-infested plague-ridden rubbish dump.
Maintenance
If you need repairs or other maintenance services to your room, kitchen or bathroom you should fill out a maintenance request form online on the college website. We have a skilled and very efficient maintenance team who endeavour to deal with problems as soon as possible. If your problem cannot be attended too quickly maintenance should let you know the reason for this, and when it will be dealt with.
