Mr David Goode MA (Cantab) FRSA

  • Computer Officer, CU Faculty of Divinity

David Goode is a Computer Officer in the University of Cambridge, assigned to the Faculty of Divinity. Goode's eclectic CV shows him previously working in journalism, publishing, and IT, magazine editing, and train driving, among other things.

Goode is often in College, and is happy to chat about pretty much anything, to use his experience in journalism to advise students whose first language is not English on the writing style of essays, dissertations, and theses, or to play table tennis badly. Goode is a Graduate Mentor, part of the excellent mentoring scheme the College runs for graduate students.

Goode is Vice-President of the academic staff union, Cambridge University and College Union (UCU), and lead negotiator with the University. He is also chair of UCU's Eastern & Home Counties Regional Committee, which covers higher, further, and adult education institutions in a huge geographic area, from the Open University in Milton Keynes, the whole of East Anglia, and Essex, right down to Southend-on-Sea.

Goode is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
