Professor George SalmondWolfson Fellow, Professor George Salmond, of the Department of Biochemistry, has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE) in recognition of his research contributions in several areas of molecular microbiology, including bacterial quorum sensing, antibiotics and virulence. There are 46 new UK and International Fellows elected to the RSE in 2012, to add to the 1500-strong Fellowship.
