Her Majesty the Queen formally opened Wolfson College in November 1977, twelve years after the institution was first founded. The college began as University College in 1965, and was renamed in 1973 following a major benefaction by the Wolfson Foundation.

Our new Book of the Month for March is a witty and critical examination of censorship in what we’re commonly told is an age of unprecendented freedom. Nick Cohen’s You Can’t Read This Book: Censorship in an age of freedom [Lee Library 302.2(14)] is on display on the shelf outside the Librarian’s office, and is available to borrow in the usual way. This week’s Thesis Writing Group offers the last in a 3-part series by Richard Berengarten, and will look at ‘Study planning: prioritisation, multi-tasking and time management’. The session will take the form of a practical workshop; no preparation is necessary, but please bring along a pen and paper, and be ready to try out some new ideas and techniques.
