Wolfson Fellow named as Finance Minister of Singapore

Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, became Finance Minister of Singapore on 1 December when Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong gave up his concurrent post.

Vacation opening

The Lee Library will be open 24 hours a day as normal throughout the Christmas vacation except as follows: closed from 7.00pm on Monday 24 December until 7.00am on Thursday 27 December; closed from 7.00pm on Monday 31 December until 7.00am on Wednesday 2 January.

Borrowing for the Christmas vacation begins on Monday 26 November. All items borrowed or renewed from that day will be due back on Monday 14 January. All items borrowed before Monday 26 November are due back on that day, and must either be returned or renewed before midnight.

Rose Book-Collecting Prize - Win £500!

What determines the books you buy? The University Library offers the Rose Book-Collecting Prize annually to the student with the most imaginative or distinctive book collection. The winner receives £500 and the chance to travel to the USA.

Lapwing receiver reconfigured

The wi-fi receiver in the Library Reading Room has been reprogrammed, which we hope will solve the problems some people have experienced when trying to connect to the Lapwing service in recent weeks. If you had not managed to detect a Lapwing connection using your laptop before 4.00pm on Friday 2 November, and would like to make use of the wi-fi facility in the Library, please try again, and report any further problems to the Librarian (Anna Jones) or the Computer Officer (Mirza Baig).
