Dr John Gage FBACollege regrets to record the death of Dr John Gage FBA, art historian, formerly Head of the Department of History of Art, and Fellow of Wolfson from 1978 to 1989. Dr Gage was an international authority on colour in Western art and on the work of J.W.W. Turner, and published several celebrated monographs. He retired to Italy, and lived latterly in Australia.
