Collecting and Scholarship: Netherlandish Art in Cambridge

Image from poster for Speelman Fellowship conference, September 2011 Wolfson College celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the Speelman Fellowship in Dutch and Flemish Art, one of only two fellowships devoted to the subject in the English-speaking world, with a conference on 23 September 2011.

'Collections and Scholarship: Netherlandish Art in Cambridge,' will bring together six former fellows and two other specialists in the field who will discuss a range of subjects from Dutch manuscripts in Cambridge collections to trompe l'oeil paintings. Together they will highlight the long-standing and intertwined traditions of scholarship and collecting in Cambridge (full programme). The full-day conference takes place in the Lee Hall.
