President and Vice-President win major research grant

The Leverhulme Trust has awarded a £1.6m grant to Professor Sir Richard Evans, Professor John Naughton and Dr David Runciman of Trinity Hall for a five-year study of "Conspiracy and Democracy: History, Political Theory and Internet Research".

Wolfson Press Fellow wins major Media Award

Dilip D'Souza, the Indian writer and journalist who was a Wolfson Press Fellow in 2001, has been awarded the Newsweek & The Daily Beast-Open Hands Prize for Commentary in South Asia. The prize is for South Asian journalists and writers covering the region "to celebrate and nurture raw talent and find fresh voices".

Professor Geoffrey Khan FBA has been elected Regius Professor of Hebrew with effect from 1 October 2012. A Fellow of Wolfson since 1994, Geoffrey is Professor of Semitic Philology, and Chair of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.

Wolfson Fellow elected to The Royal Society

Wolfson Fellow Professor Gordon Dougan FMedSci FRS has been elected to a Fellowship of The Royal Society. Principal Research Scientist and Head of Pathogens at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Gordon Dougan is distinguished through his investigations into how bacteria interact with and stimulate the mucosal surfaces of the body during infection.

The Queen at Wolfson

Her Majesty the Queen formally opened Wolfson College in November 1977, twelve years after the institution was first founded. The college began as University College in 1965, and was renamed in 1973 following a major benefaction by the Wolfson Foundation.
